With 38 plates, 17 of which has been partially coloured with pastel by a previous owner, all neatly done and of the ladies dresses only, some of the pastel has coloured the opposite pages, foxing to some of the plates. The last page has 4 closed tear which have been repaired with a strip of tissue along the margin, does not cover any text. Single closed tear to the final plate facing p622. 8vo. On vignette title page the pound sign is after the 100 indicating first issue. Green cloth boards are rubbed with a few stains to rear. Leather sunned, scuffed and chipped. Front hinge cracked and rear hinge completely split causing spine to be detached from textblock. All plates including engraved title pages are heavily browned and foxed, some chipped to edges. Some foxing throughout. Bookplate to front pastedown and light smudged ink markings to ffep. Otherwise pages clean and bright, textblock sturdy.. Illustr.: Phiz. Book Condition: Fair.
