Among items listed as part of the collection were James W. Marshall's cane that he made himself, part of Theodore Judah's surveying equipment used in surveying the railway route across the Sierra, Adolph Sutro's compass used during the construction of Sutro's Tunnel, a pitcher and glasses that belonged to C.P.
