Back page soiled. 3 3/4 x 6 inches. Chapbooks were an early form of popular literature, originating in the 16th century and fading out of use by the mid-19th century. They were cheaply printed booklets that "chapmen" would sell door to door or at fairs to the common people. This one contains a tragic love story in ballad form.. Book.
