How to order a book. Using the search form in the left side panel, you can browse all of our stock or search for a particular item. Once you have located a book you want to buy, click on the basket icon and it will be added to your shopping basket. You can review the contents of your basket at any time, and your order will be automatically transmitted to us by e-mail, with a confirmatory e-mail to you. We will contact you to confirm availability and shipping costs.

Terms of Business: PAYMENT: You may pay with a credit card (MC/VISA/AMEX/JCB/Discover/Diners Club) or by check. To order with a credit card: Call, fax, or E-mail us the card number and expiration date along with the name on the card, and the Zip Code of the billing address for the card (Zip code not necessary if you are outside of the US). To order with a check: send it to us at the address below and include a note with information about the book you are paying for. 

SHIPPING: Within the continental US: We ship via US mail or UPS. We charge listed rates + $1.50 for supplies and the tracking label. Insurance with US mail is extra. US mail packages are usually shipped from the store every 2 or 3 days. UPS packages are usually shipped from the store every day except on weekends. California residents are subject to sales tax. Hawaii, Alaska, & Foreign: We use US mail. Charges vary depending on whether you specify Air or Surface (sea). We charge listed rates + $1.50 for supplies and the proof of mailing certificate. Insurance with foreign mail is extra. HOLDS: We will hold books for up to a week if requested, otherwise our standard holding time without a confirmation of payment is 3 days. 

REFUNDS: Please, if there is a problem and you need to return an item you must NOTIFY us within 7 days of Receipt. Authorization is required before you ship. Phone or E-mail us with particulars. In order to obtain a full refund you must do the following: * Use our packaging material and our box (unless you have better material). * Include a photocopy of your receipt. * Insure the package (we are not responsible for loss or damage en route). * Be approved for a refund by the manager after we receive the book and examine its condition. Shipping fees are not included on refunds for returned items. 

How to search for a book. The search form allows you to search for a book or group of books with various degrees of specificity. To view all of our books, simply leave the criteria fields blank and click "Search Books". As a general rule for criteria, less is better. The words you specify must occur in the relevant database field, so that it is better to leave out any words you feel unsure about. If your criteria result in a very long list, you can easily go back and refine your search. The results of your search will appear in this main frame while your search criteria remain visible in the left side frame.

Author: if the author's surname is a common one, you should specify one or more initials or a first name in addition to the surname. If you are uncertain of the spelling or the name is very long, you can use a wild card % before or after the specified part of the name.

Title: if you are uncertain of the precise title, specify only the part of which you are sure. A few words are usually sufficient. A wild card % is accepted.

Publisher: again, book sellers and publishers themselves over a period of years can be very inconsistent in the formulation of a publishing house name. Minimise your search words.

Keywords: a book will be returned as a match if the word or words in the keyword field occur anywhere in the book entry.

The number of books you wish to display per page will depend on the speed of your internet connections. If you have a slow download rate, you should specify a smaller number of books per page.

Short and long format: if your download rate is slow or you expect a long list of books to be returned, you should choose the short format which consists of author, title and price. When you find a book of interest, a single click provides you with the long format, which gives all details provided by the bookseller.
